Thought Leader Information

Contact Us

Thought Leader Select works with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and diagnostic companies to help identify Thought Leaders in a wide variety of therapeutic areas.  As part of our research efforts, we sometimes request curriculum vitae (CV) from physicians.

Below are answers to some of the most frequent questions we receive from Thought Leaders.

Why should I supply my CV to Thought Leader Select?

Thought Leader Select works with companies that want to identify experts for a variety of activities – from clinical trials to conference speakers to advisory board members.  By supplying your CV, you increase the chances that a company will contact you with opportunities appropriate to your interests and skills.

What will happen to my CV? Who will have access to it?

The information on your CV becomes part of a package of data that we supply to the client pharmaceutical, biotechnology or diagnostic company.  We will not release information in your CV to any third parties without your permission.

By supplying my CV, have I obligated myself in any way?

You are not obligating yourself in any way by providing a CV, but it will aid in the offer of future opportunities to you.  Our client will contact you directly in the future if they are interested in your participation in a specific activity.

What happens if I do not send my CV?

If you do not send your CV, we will inform the client of your choice.  Given that the client will have limited data available to them about your experiences, skills and areas of interest, you may not receive as many invitations to participate in clinical trials, speaking engagements, consulting opportunities, advisory boards and so on.

How did Thought Leader Select get my name?

Thought Leader Select identifies Thought Leaders through a variety of methods.  In some cases, the client company provides a list of individuals about whom they are interested in learning more.  In other cases, we compile lists for companies through searches of literature, analysis of conference agendas and other such research.  We also sometimes gather recommendations on potential experts from other Thought Leaders.

Why does the company not just contact me directly?

Companies hire us for a variety of reasons though the most common are to extend their resources and/or gather information objectively.  We have researchers who are dedicated to gathering curriculum vitae and public information about Thought Leaders in a variety of therapeutic areas.  Companies often do not have the time or expertise to do this kind of work internally.  We also have developed a proprietary methodology for organizing information about the experience and expertise of Thought Leaders in a way that is meaningful for our client companies.

I am already working with this company.  Why do they need my CV now?

While you may already be working with this company, there may be additional opportunities that would be of interest to you given your skills and experience.  By understanding your interests and background better, companies are able to offer you opportunities that are suited to your unique set of capabilities.

Are you an SMO or a CRO?

No. We are a consulting company whose sole purpose is to aggregate information about Thought Leaders in a meaningful way for our clients.  We will never ask the Thought Leaders we contact to pay any money.  Furthermore, we do not become involved in the actual selection of investigators for clinical trial opportunities.

I have other questions.  Who can I contact?

Please feel free to contact our Executive Vice President of Research Lisa Smith with any questions or concerns you may have.  Lisa can be reached by email at lsmith@thoughtleaderselect.com or by phone at (919) 306-4426.
